Skeletal muscle mass and strength decrease with age. These cause a poor ADL and QOL, as well as an increased risk of falls, which can result in bedridden patients, making this a major social issue. To address this issue, we have discovered a new food ingredient. This ingredient is a plant distributed widely around the world, and it has the potential to be used as a food ingredient to maintain lower limb muscle strength in the elderly. In this presentation, we will introduce the effects of this ingredient on lower limb muscle strength based on recent research.
